Ryan’s passion for fitness started at five years old with flag football. He excelled in the sport throughout high school and played in the McDonald's Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic. Along with football, Ryan also participated in wrestling and track and field.
Ryan was a freshman in college at the time of the 9/11 attacks. A few days later, he withdrew himself and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After boot camp in Parris Island, Ryan completed infantry school and was stationed with 3rd battalion 6th Marines Lima Company. He is an OIF/OEF combat veteran and completed multiple tours in Afghanistan. The lessons he learned in the Marines instilled valuable qualities in him such as discipline, hard work ethic, camaraderie, and dedication. All of these qualities not only made him a great Marine, but also help to make him a great CrossFit trainer.
Ryan returned home and was quickly frustrated with his typical “body building” type repetitive workout. He heard about CrossFit9 from Coach Steve and after a tough FGB WOD (fight gone bad workout), he was officially hooked! CrossFit was, and is, everything Ryan could hope for, and not just in a workout routine, but in a lifestyle. So much has happened since he found CrossFit, and he finally feels like he’s at the point where he can start using his knowledge and experience to help others.
He lives in downtown St. Petersburg, FL with his wife, yellow labrador retriever and cat. He enjoys all types of outdoor activities (camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking) and spending time with his family.

Lucas Ogden-Davis
After years of lifting weights, starting as a rugby player at Rice University, Lucas got his first sip of the CrossFit “kool aid” during a trip to China in 2008. While traveling around the country, he spent a month doing only CrossFit-style bodyweight Met-Con workouts. After not touching a weight for more than five weeks, he returned from China skinnier, faster, and just as strong as he was before he left! Lucas started working out at CrossFit 9 in 2010, and was quickly hooked on the camaraderie, variety, and great results.
Lucas loves sharing his passion for fitness and active, healthy living with clients of all ages and abilities. He’s on a continuous journey to improve his own fitness every day, and invites you to join him!
Lucas lives in St Petersburg with his wife, Kim, their dog, Freyja, and their cat, Freckles. When he’s not perfecting his air squat or trying out a new trick on the rings, he can be found studying for his M.B.A. classes at the University of Tampa or reading a good book.

Jen Waite
From a young age Jen was involved in athletics and sports. After playing sports at the high school level, Jen was recruited to play Division I lacrosse and started every game in her four year career. It was during that time that she started on her path to coaching. As the head coach of a high school lacrosse team, Jen helped bring them from last place to first place and the following year she was the assistant coach at the college level, helping that team to their most wins in history.
After college Jen was looking for something to fuel her competitive fire again, to challenge and dedicate herself to, that could involve multiple strengths, and so she found the sport of triathlon. Jen pushed herself to reach her goals and competed regularly for several years. During those years she became a certified USA triathlon coach in order to help individuals whom were new to the sport; especially women and children. Over these four years, Jen completed more than 25 triathlons, a couple half marathons and numerous road races. Due to the constant running during training a foot injury grew worse making it harder and harder to train. Foot surgery became the last option with no guarantee that the injury would fully heal and not reoccur. Not willing to be laid up without being able to work out for several months she looked for other athletic alternatives and discovered CrossFit.
CrossFit was everything she had been looking for and so much more. It once again fueled her competitive spirit, created that team bond she had been missing, challenged her both physically and mentally and created amazing results. Because of the varied workouts, CrossFit didn't cause that constant impact and stress on her injury the way running did. When given the opportunity to become a CrossFit trainer Jen didn't hesitate at the opportunity as this was just another chance for her to not only push herself but also influence and have a positive impact on the health and well-being of others.
